Armoires Add Stylish Storage Space To Any Bedroom

One of the most versatile pieces of furniture one can have in a bedroom is an armoire. There are several different types of armoires available from which to choose. These elegant pieces have come a long way since the seventeenth century, when they were just a place to store armor and weapons. Today, one can have a TV armoire, jewelry armoires, a wardrobe armoire, or any of a hundred other types of bedroom armoires.

Armoires Add Stylish Storage Space To Any Bedroom

There is no limit to how many a person can have in their room either, save the space limitations imposed by the dimensions of the room. One way that people incorporate armoires into their decor is by combining types of furnishings into a single piece. One good example of this would be an armoire vanity that doubles as a place for the lady of the house to apply makeup and storage space for all her cosmetics and jewelry.

In smaller bedrooms where there was no room to include a closet, a wardrobe armoire with drawers below can provide the perfect storage space for one’s clothes. Then, there are the free standing jewelry armoires that can be designed to fit in with any motif and beautify a room while providing storage space for all a lady’s jewelry and small valuables.

It is also becoming common to incorporate storage spaces into TV armoires where one can place a DVD player or a VCR, as well as storing tapes or discs for quick access when ready to play back. Some people even use a portion of this space for storage of books. One can even find an entertainment armoire that would fit into the living room decor and make a beautiful entertainment center.

The good news is that it is possible to find armoires in a variety of finishes, so that they fit into any decor. Some have a natural wood finish in different shades, such as cherry or mahogany. Others are finished in an oriental motif and feature designs and drawings that are reminiscent of Asian architecture.

When it comes to finding storage space that looks good too, armoires fit the bill in many different ways. They can be found in virtually any room in the home, but the bedroom is probably the most common because of the specialized structure and types of storage they offer. After all, a jewelry armoire would be of little use in the bathroom where space is needed for storing linens.

When care is taken to choose armoires that match the tables, dressers, and other furnishings in a bedroom, the overall decor can be whatever the owner desires with a single motif maintained throughout all the furnishings in the room.

In some instances, interior designers may find a unique or exceptional armoire that provides the basis for the entire decor of the room instead of trying to find one that matches an existing style. They are also sold as part of some bedroom suites with all the pieces chosen because they match and form an aesthetically pleasing combination.
